the volume/tone look angry

btw, why did you start the thread title with, "Ladies and Gents"? you know quite well that there aren't any females around here!

I have a radical idea. The door swings both ways,
we could reverse the particle flow through the gate.
We'll cross the streams.

Funny you should menition Fettouhi cuz he's the guy I'm talkin' about. He didn't order a Leviatan as you said, but a lefty UVMC and he's going insane waiting for it. That said, it's probably gonna be worth the wait.

Yeah, that 8-string lefty Burnt Berry Burst one was done for Fettouhi.

Some of the wait people are experiencing does come down to component availability and people changing their minds on specs.

I could say i've been waiting about 18 months for my guitar, but that's not a fair assessment, because i've changed specs based on component availability a couple of times. Initially, i was going to do a really bare-bones "workhorse" guitar with a matte black or dark red finish over ash with no filler so you see the grain through the opaque paint. You can see some of these mock-ups on LGM's site... there are a couple of guitars with Hipshot trems that were my initial concepts.

But then i decided that if i was getting a custom guitar, it really should be my "ultimate" guitar. So the specs changed. I really wanted the Hipshot non-locking trem, but Jeremy wanted to limit the options available on the guitars. He didn't want to have to make templates for a bridge he didn't want to offer. So i settled on making it a hardtail.

But then he told me about GraphTech developing Floyd piezo saddles, and i changed the specs to that around November/December 2004, as we were anticipating they'd be available shortly after 2005 Winter NAMM. As time passed, he eventually got a message from GraphTech that they were still testing the design of the piezo Floyd saddles and they weren't quite ready. This was in July. The Tremol-No also still wasn't in production, so in August i reverted to a hardtail spec. (Thank goodness Jeremy hadn't gone ahead and routed the body for the Floyd!) And it's been a waiting game since then.

In that time, i've seen Jeremy complete a number of other guitars, paint dozens of violins and do numerous other custom paint jobs. He's a busy guy. Factor in his move last fall and his lack of a paint shop since then, and it's been a loooong wait. What's been most frustrating is that i've got pics of my guitar's body from over a year ago. The woods were glued together and the body outline cut. And the pickups and hardware were in Jeremy's shop before that.

However, to his credit, Jeremy wasn't satisfied with the tolerances on his first set of templates, so he re-made them, and newer Leviathans – including mine – are going to have tighter trem and pickup cavity routing than the first batch. And i just got word from him the other day that my neck is almost complete.

I don't think anyone but Jeremy can give you a time estimate, because at the moment he has a pretty big backlog of work to clear due to his move and the time, expense and red tape he's had to go through to get the spray booth permits approved for his new shop. He has a number of instruments that have just been awaiting paint and final assembly. Last i heard from him, he was going to be able to start moving forward with all that this week.

It warms the cockles of my cold, dead heart to know that I'm not the only person on this board with a thing for two-point non-locking trems.

Right, which is a completely different case. Because Andre's guitar body was sent to ATD for the swirl, and they had the body for a long time. If I remember correctly, EKG made the body, ATD swirled it, and LGM is doing the neck/assembly.

Well, just sent my down payment off to LGM. Quoted 8 months, which im fine with. I also called Carvin to cancel my v3 order to use towards the down payment, and they told me the amp was sent out on thursday They told me (on wednesday) it would be like, 2 weeks before they sent it out to me because it was still on backorder. Oh well, i'll either send it back, or sell the TS100 (Anyone interested?)

SCOTT - After several lengthy e-mails and phone calls between myself and Jeremy at LGM, I would suggest getting the Seymour Duncan pickups over the EMG's. Jeremy said the SD's are just an overall better pickup for this guitar. The EMG's aren't even over all of the strings, as in, the higher strings come out much louder than the lower (heavier) strings. The SD's are very even, and have a lot more clarity, according to Jeremy. Just a thought. Congrats btw. I'm working on a down payment for him to start my 8-string Levi in halo blue, swamp ash body, SD pickups, chrome hardware, white binding on neck/headstock, and custom VIII inlay at the 12th fret. I can't wait to send that payment out! GOD! lol.

Hah actually man, im not getting an 8, im getting a 7. That pic was for finish purposes only. I need a floater on my guitars Though I think im going to get jeremy to toss a tremol-no in it (If they aren't out in 8 months im gonna flip ) since it's going to have a licensed floyd, im not expecting much from it.

I thought he was using OFR's...but I could be mistaken. Either way, I hate Floyd's so I'm glad the 8-string only comes with a fixed bridge, heh. YOu can always pay Darren (he's on here somewhere) to make you a mock-up of the Levi you want . He made mine and it's a lot easier to send Jeremy a mock-up of what you want than trying to convey the options in an e-mail.

He does use OFRs. But there are no 7 string versions available in lefty form. Only a licensed version exists. I'm pretty sure me and Jeremy are agreed on what i'm looking for. He tells me he has this sweet quited top that he will be using on my guitar
