Agile Septor 7 string?

Well, I've gotten the urge to learn how to play the thin stringed guitar, and since I will mostly be writing along with stuff I've written with 5 and 6 string basses, it only seems logical that I get a 7 string. Since there are a lot of people who are very familiar with Agile, how is the Septor? Is it good for a beginner (decent), good, awesome, or stay the fuck away for that thing? Any other suggestions for a good 7 strings (preferably $500 or less) is greatly appreciated, I have no need for a tremolo.

Agiles apparently have a good rep around here. I'm sure people will tell you to go for it.

i have one
i modded it with new paintjob and new pickups etc
but if u can get along with the 25.5" scale then deff go for it!
if ur a bassist it will seem TINY tho
i would wait til the interceptors come back (which will bee very soon i think) and get a 27"
i have a interceptor pro also and it destroys the septor

I do believe the interceptor is back Agile Interceptor 7 String Blue Flame at HomeOld Is it much better playing/sound wise? Or is the only differences the maple top, 27" scale, and the tremolo?

They are both probably the same in terms of playability. The maple "top" is actually a thin veneer there just for visual effect, the 27" scale is what will affect you the most and the trem is a LFR.

I've played some of my friend's guitars, which are either 25.5 or 24.75 I can't really remember, and they seemed fine to me, visuals don't really matter, and I would rather not have a tremolo. Thanks for all of your help guys! I'll pick up the Septor when I can get the money.

NickCormier can only hope to improve
I use mine as my main 7 (and main home guitar) and its nice. Its a Septor (bolt on)

I dunno, I like it only slightly better than the RG7621's, just because mines quilted top, ebony fretboard, etc. They are good guitars if you like the RG's tho, just abit thicker necks, not a lot, a tiny bit.

zilong will become famous soon enough
While I can't comment on the neck due to the previous owner having messed with it, the guitar itself seems fine to me. It was the first 7 I picked up some months ago, and it worked great as a learning platform. It does have a few faults, but what guitar doesn't? I think it'll be fine for what you want to do.
