I've heard they do, but never tried one. Nearly brought one, but ended up passing due to lack of funds.

Nothing like a good depressant to chase the blues away!

Yes, they do. I had one in my RG7420, but I took it out after about a month. I just couldn't get used to the stiffness and "clunk" at the zero point.

Yes, it was that stiff. You can make it looser, but then you can't do compound bends in tune, and tuning is more difficult since it's more like a full floater.

Just try it out. You may like it.

Although, everyone I've talked to who has used them tried them out for a while, and then got rid of them.

Same here - it's cool for what it is, but the slight catch began to drive me crazy. As a lot of my barwork is pretty subtle, eventually i just pulled it from my 7620, and these days I've been rocking a Tremol-no prototype in my PWH with rather good results.

i dont really care if my compound bends are out because theyre not my style of technique all i want the tremsetter to do is make the guitar go back to tune after frantic whammying,

Give it a shot, you might like it. In your case you should be able to set it up just to add a little bit of tension. It's still going to feel different - there's a definite 'zero' position, which makes a smooth vibrato kinda difficult, and it feels stiffer when pushing the bar down. Also it prevents the 'warble' effect.
