I break input jacks like nobody's business.
Is there such a thing as a "high end" input jack? The one on my hellraiser is fucking awesome, it takes some serious oomph to push the jack in. My C7, on the other hand, I replace the fucking thing once a month because I end up whacking the cable with my leg. |

What brand jacks are you using? Might want to switch to a stereo Switchcraft jack just to have a more solid connection.
The one on the right: http://www.stewmac.com/shop/Electron...s.html#details PS: It's an Output jack, not input, the signal comes out of your guitar. ![]() |

Not sure honestly, whatever the dude at Guitar Center flings me. I'd love to find out what the stock jack in the Hellraiser is, because it's fucking awesome.

First of all, on a guitar, sound goes out, so it's an output jack.
Do you use a straight or angled cable? |

You could try a Neutrik professional jack like those new Gibsons do...you don't have to get a locking one, lol. They're flat-mount though, so it won't really be easy to conform
but they own the shit out of everything else as far as strength/connectivity in the audio world goes unless there's some 100 dollar jack which I don't know about. You could always mount a strat jack on the back of the guitar like Akira Takasaki's Killers have. |

A right-angle plug might also relieve some of the strain on the jack. I've always used right-angle plugs on the guitar end of my cables, and have not once had a problem with an output jack on the guitar.

My jack seems to loosen up alot, I'm not sure why but when I tried tightening it with a pair of pliars I tightened it TOO much and no sound would come out.
On a side note about that link Toshiro provided. Anyone else find it kind of commical that Australia's currency is represented by a Kangaroo? |
