Agile Septor 7 string.....it's here.

Well, the Septor's here. Nice player, decent sound......But I am not keeping it. It just doesn't vibe with me, and it's not really all that different sounding than my RG1527, even with the improved pickups.

There's also a number of minor but irritating cosmetic flaws, such as a finish crack by the neck joint, some scuffs, and a divet out of the fretboard, presumably when they were polishing/leveling the frets.

Not what I'd expect, even from an MIK guitar. Schecter, Ibanez, and PRS all have better QC for their MIK guitars than this.

It's a bummer, because it's so close to being perfect. So much so that I considered just exchanging it for the extended scale one. But for now, until I make up my mind, I am just going to return it. Kurt's been great communication-wise, and that's always a good thing.

Is it made in Korea, or China?

That's a very pretty red... almost like a candy-apple red with a gold undertone.

That finish is awesome. It's a shame you're not keeping it, but I guess if you're not happy with it there's no point having it around. Those finish/fretboard flaws are odd, my Interceptor and the others I've seen here are flawless.

That IS pretty, though.

A few cracks and scuffs I could live with, but a divot out of the fretboard... How bad is it? Could you post a close-up?

FWIW, someone (I forgot who) posted one where there was a visible overhang of the high-E saddle over the front of the trem route. He said it didn't detract from playability, but I'd consider that inexcuseable on a $200 guitar, much less a $4-500 (I forget which).

Strange was that in the other pictures I've seen of other ones, this wasn't an issue.

* Chris wonders if Kurt would sell him that on the cheap as a factory blemish job.

Is that your case, or did you order it from Rondo with the guitar.

Ordered it from Rondo. It's not specific to the Septor though.
