Spend more money initially and you will be happier with the results. I have seen the Ibanez Apex go for as little as $370.00 so be patient, and do your research.

Shame about the dots the RG7621 and 7620 are amazing guitars for the money. (You can usually find them between 300.00 and 600.00 if you look hard enough.

I have heard good things about Agile as well but have never played one.

Schecter I feel is getting to be a much better company, but I don't find their necks as comfortable.

Good Lcuk, stay on Craigslist and you will find something amazing (look in other cities many people are too lazy to put on ebay and are willing to ship to Canada).

lol the dots just look wierd to me their little circles...im pretty sure ever guitar has markers on the side of the neck, the inlays would just be a cosmetic part of the guitar for me and personally id rather have no inays than dots, boxes, flags...i do like the shark tooth ones among others

Stay away from the 7420! I recommend going hardtail for your first 7. I love my old Schecter A-7, and the 7X21s are great Ibys. It kind of boils down to the big 3 at this price point in no particular order:

Ibanez
Schecter
Agile

I got this baby for under $300, and they usually won't go for much higher than $350 from what I've seen: http://www.sevenstring.org/forum/sev...t-excited.html

The LTD M-207 isn't to bad either, but I would rather get a RG7420 or 7421. Agile doesn't seem to have any 7's in stock right now.

im pretty sure im goin for the hellraiser 7 mainly cuz it just fits me...ive played a 6 string version at guitarcenter but what i cant wrap my head around is why the price was over $800 when online i believe they have it on their site for i think $500 or so...

im thinking of getting an amp also...ive decided on the kustom 100watt quad w/ mesa 3/4 back 2x12, is the quad good for death metal?

Nobody recommended Carvin, they go for practically nothing second hand, also the Xiphos seems to be selling cheap now

I think that bang for buck you'll find it hard to beat Schecter. Great quality guitars and they have really decent hardware on them. For the money you can get them for they are good. I've a Schecher C7 and an Ibanez RG7621 and I still end up playing the Schecter 90% of the time.
