Parents rarely understand....except for my mother who when I lived at home would yell at me to turn it up louder, stating she couldn't hear what I was playing. Hey, any excuse works to crank the 120watt tube amp in the house!!
:p It does help when they come from a musical background though, even if they don't appreciate the music and the gear as much, they love the fact that their kids are musically inclined in some form.

Be careful with that guitar, I'd hate to see it fall off the wall hanging and smash on the floor!
