How the hell are you supposed to shoulder that? It's definately a member of the viol family, and then there's the absense of the f-holes

My friend has a 6-string one, it's pretty sweet. You can get frets if you want.

I disagree, I think it looks really awesome. It makes me wish I'd actually kept up violin instead of jacking it in. Someone else posted it a while back but I still think it's one of the coolest instrument designs I've seen.
