charles22880 can only hope to improve
thought the idea of being tuned to b and having that extra string meant more possiblities and experimentation.

i_love_tazzus is a jewel in the rough
Eh... I finally had the money and opportunity to go get one!

Seriously, Trey Azagthoth was one of the first guitarists to make me want one, as was Bucky Pizzarelli and Steve Vai.

Shred to livE!!!

always loved how petrucci used it. Then one day i found two amazing local bands, Aghora and Vessel. The way Santiago plays that seventh string led me to try one in a guitar store... and thats history.

If you havent heard of Aghora before, i suggest you check them out. Very jazzish Cynic-like female fronted shred. Vessel's ep comes out soon i think, another good miami band.

Thanks! Glad you like Aghora!!!!

For me it was VAI PASSION & WARFARE that got me hooked on 7s

Vessel EP is coming soon. I am mixing it at the moment for them. So far so good.

Peace

Basically I just started guitar and heard about Korn playing 7 strings I was big into them at the time. I thought to myself it would make sense to switch to a 7 early and love the Low B. I can't stand playing any 6 string in standard tuning. so I bought a Dean EVO Special 7 and now I'm addicted to 7 strings.

StevieHimself has a spectacular aura about
Steve Vai got me into wanting to try one back in 1989 but I admit that my attitude was, "Well I'm not as good as Vai, so why bother?" I eventually played a roadie's white Universe and liked it a lot but still kept thinking, "Nah I'm not good enough." After 10 years of beating my head into the wall, trying to convince myself I wasn't ready, I just decided to buy one and go for it. It was the smartest move I ever made!

"Bello just played more notes today than I did in 20 years!"
