Really? What amp model are you using? Sure, a Nomad's pretty mid-heavy to begin with so maybe its not the best demonstration or anything, but the "scoop" to the blaze is pretty subtle, to my ears - I'm surprised to hear that even with your mids maxed you still feel like you're missing midrange.

i use the soldano amp sim, with the uv, the only cab sim that sounds semi decent is the ultimate vamp cab sim, i use other cab sims with other guitars and they sound wonderful, in fact one of my favorite tones with my rhoads v is the 1x8 "vintage tweed" cab sim, but it won't work for the universe, it just sounds like crap.

Well, yeah, you'd expect that... Rhoads is an alder-bodied guitar with an x2n, right? Plug a basswood bodied seven with a Blaze bridge into an amp set for a six string alder bodied guitar with a bridge humbucker with about 40% more output, and naturally you're going to get VERY different sounds.

Try optimising an amp patch from the ground up for the UV with the Blaze in it - right now, you're not even comparing apples to oranges, you're comparing apples to pickup trucks, dude.

I mean, if nothing else, a 1x8 really isn't designed to deal with the low end a seven string puts out...

nice guitar!!

I have a radical idea. The door swings both ways,
we could reverse the particle flow through the gate.
We'll cross the streams.

i've already made a patch around the uv, doesn't mean it sounds as good as what i can get out of the rhoads or even the mahogony bodied washburn...

*shrug* different strokes for different folks, I guess - I find the Blaze bridge one of the most balanced, clear bridge pickups I've played.

Nice. Congrats. I regret selling mine 3 years ago. Looking at yours makes me wish I still had mine. Enjoy it.
