Schecter Damien 7 :: Going Active

Hello everyone,

I just had a quick question to those who own, or who have owned a Schecter Damien 7 (floyded or unfloyded).

I really want to get one of those guitars, but I have a concern about switching to active pups. Will I need to take the guitar to a shop to have a battery cavity fabricated for it, or will I have enough room for the battery in the electronic slot?

I know this might seem like a silly question, but I'm pretty much a noob when it comes to actives.

Aren't Damiens already active? Well, in the neck position, anyway. You might as well swap the pups, seeing as they're HZ's.

I know someone who put in active emg's and he could fit the battery in the cavity no problem.

As someone who's fitted actives in non-active guitars, for the most part you should be able to fit the battery in the control cavity. There are a few excetions, but I can't see it being a problem in a Schecter cavity.

That's usually a problem with Ibanez S guitars, but with the Schecter it should be no problem.

There should be no problems fitting a battery snugly into the control cavity.

Plus the actives should drop right in since the HZs are routed like 707's. So you can pop in EMG actives or Duncan Blackouts.
