It is birdseye maple, so called for the figuring, which looks like little bird eyes.

And while we're on the topic, can someone show me the difference between Carvins with rounded sides and ones without? They've all seem to look similiar to me.

Basicly, it is the difference between a rounded edge, and rounding it all the way around the side to the back.

Ahh, still doesn't to be THAT much of a difference. I mainly see the difference in the upper and lower horns.

Trust me, Shannon, it is a huge differnce in person, as the body sides are one constant radius, all the way from the top to the back. I just can't find a side shot to show it off well.

It's nice to see a 7 with a rounded body for once. If I want a sharp, angular body, there's Ibanez. Plus, the rounded body goes nice with the Carvin headstock.

Gorgous axe, I think the world could use more uber-high definition pictures of 7-strings
