For those who care
About 1000 bodies for the Dean RC7's have been cut. It's possible that they may no longer be a myth. Just figured I let you know.

Count me out
The RC7 is the absolute worst value in the history of guitars, though check back with me in 5 years when the Universe costs $2799.99 ![]() |

Yeah I spoke to Brad at Dean two days ago. They're all cut, and awaiting painting. The ETA is now October to December.

I had one on pre-order and cancelled it two days ago. It occured to me that I am nuts to get a loan of 1600 GBP to buy a Guitar only one person in the world has actually tried. No one can tell you if it's playable, you just have the specs to go on. Plus the paint job is rediculous. So anyway I figured that I can buy a decent Ibanez for 1/4 of the price, and although it's not a hand made USA Custom shop Guitar, I at least know what it's like to play, and I know I like it. So that's what I did. Cancelled the RC7G, and bought an Ibanez. Am I stupid for passing up on the opportunity? Maybe, but it's too much of an expensive gamble. This is what the Dean rep emailed me with 60 seconds after I called to cancel; " Chris, I have just had a call from Nevada. Thay say you have cancelled your guitar!!! I rang USA to make sure the Guitar was winging its way to me and they have already cut the body. This thing is HAND MADE. What's up this is a one off chance to get a guitar woth over 3K for less than half price. Let me know whats going on. I am not cancelling this till I here from you as I don't want you to lose this. Matt" Salesman stuff obviously. But if anyone out there really IS looking for the Rusty Cooley model, a slot just opened. The Guitar was half made when I cancelled. To much cash for a guitar that is basically an RG7420 with EMG's, plus the "hand made" part is misleading; the guitars where cut with a machine (nothing wrong with this) but still.

Its a 7620 really when you look at the bridge, with emgs and a stupidly LOOONG headstock...the headstock is fucking gay by the way - thought I would just add my last 2 cents...its so plain...its like Dave Mustaines headstock. its full of absolute PHAILZ. I'll be keeping my 7620 w/ Blaze customs thanks
![]() Buuuuuut.... I do like the body - the cutout is quite clever and the fretboard DOES look nice with the binding and the 6150's... Buuuuuut....again his Blue Ibanez Custom looks way nicer so pretty much hes a cock for playing deans...seems like a nice guy though ![]() |

After the recent dean fiasco, the total rip off price of almost ALL deans and the shocking quality i have been unfortunate enough to have been presented with, i give the dean the big finger and put my money elsewhere.

Plus, of course, All Deans suck lol. Ok ok Dimebag played them ..... but they're ass to play!
I'm happy with my choice to ditch Dean for Ibanez, and my pocket has less of a hole for it too. |
