Mine is on pre-order, as I'm waiting for the release of the Quilted Black Cherry version. I've also been in contact with EMG, and will have my own signature electronics in it consisting of;

• Two EMG 707TW's (Twin Singles/Humbuckers)
• EMG-EXG
• EMG-Pi2
• Two Volumes with push/push coil taps
• EMG-EXG EQ Expander will have a push/push to double up as a phase inverter.

Whilst they waited, I whopped out my Schecter and let them have a go. Every last one of them left ordering a Schecter.

And yes i've heard that Schecter and ESP are the same company. However, in the SAQ section of Schecter's site it says they are in no way affiliated.....

either way, they both make great guitars.

I dislike baseball bat neck guitars like Les Pauls, but I don't find Schecter necks too thick at all. I find them comfortable. I always wanted an SRC though. They keep discontinuing all the damn colors I like. All the black is so boring, but maybe they will make that white V a production model.

Schecter guitars are fretted and set up at Schecter, I have heard they are superior in that department but do not know for sure.

ESP definitely needs to get their models straight, that green stef was bitchin. and LTDs are definitely not set up at least not my VB-200, although it was in-tune when it arrived, imagine that, lol.

The only thing I didn't like about my Hellraiser (and what ended up being the reason I sold it) was that I couldn't take to the 707 in the neck position. But god damn did that thing destroy in the bridge.

You didn't like the 707 in the bridge Chris? I think it's an awesome neck pup.

As for ESP and Schecter being affiliated even though Schecter says they are not they are full of shit. Last year i got an LTD and my Loomis within weeks of each other and they have the same damn inspection sticker on them.

I loved it in the bridge, found it too harsh and inarticulate in the neck.

In what kind of wood? In the ash Loomis I find it to be really articulate. I thought about swapping the bridge to a blackout, but never had any plans to swap the neck 707. Now I just say screw it because I really like the 707 in the bridge too. I can't see the blackout being that much better.


*edit* Duh I just went back and read it was in the Hellraiser. I would imagine the 707 could get a bit muddy and lose some cut in an all mohogany guitar. Have you tried a Loomis? It's a whole different ballgame.
