7620's w/ Bubinga stripe?

hey, gotta quick question folks. uhh im looking around at 7620s, and ive noticed that some of them come with the stripe at the back of the neck and most without. does anyone know why?

I think it was introduced around 2000/2001. My 1999 RG doesn't have one, but my 2001 RG has one.

I believe the stripe was started in 2000. I had a 99 also that did not have the stripe.

which neck is thinner/thicker?

I have found the ones (late 99s or 2000 models) with the bubinga stripe have a slightly thicker grip which can be more comfortable. The older all maple necks were thinner imo.
