Wow, looks amazing!

Definitely up there with the best Carvins I've seen. I really want a 727.

Amazing, the nicest Carvin I've seen. What do you think of the stock pickups? Thinking of upgrading to EMGs, I noticed you had a battery box route in there?

I had the battery box put in, because I assumed I wouldn't like the stock pickups, and I was considering either EMGs or Blackouts.

The stock pickups aren't horrible, but they're not great either.

I am going to do a weird pickup combination:

A Blackout bridge, and a Rio Grande Tallboy.

I want the Blackout for my metal rhythm playing, and the Tallboy for the single coil lead tone that I like.

I'll have to do some odd wiring, but I think I'll ge able to get it to work. I know that the neck pickup will be noisy and weaker than the bridge, but I really don't care. I use really different tones for my different style of playing anyway.

I'm hoping to put up a vid of me playing my new 727 in a few days...I have to join youtube or something first, though.

Good luck getting blackouts in there. You're going to need to enlarge the pickup routes a good bit (although on the upside, no paint to worry about).

Dimarzios just fit, and that's with a lot of dremel'ing of the base and sideplates to shrink them.
