Talking about production guitars...

Ibanez made the best 7 strings in the past, but now clearly sucks. A lot of brands like Agile or Schecter offer much more features for much less dinero

I used to be the biggest Ibanez junkie but since I've learned more and more about guitars, I shall be switching to Agile.

I believe that many companys make good guitars.

You can't say one company makes the best because the quality of guitars differs from model to model. I think its stupid when people say (company X) sucks. I bet if you played their high end guitars it would not suck.

Ibanez make alot of good guitars... they also MADE great guitars then stopped making them, and brought out worse guitars. No one company makes only awsome guitars... there are shitty ibanez's, shitty schecters, shitty jacksons, shitty ESP's shitty fenders, shitty gibsons, anything. There is also great ibanez's, great schecters, great jacksons, great esps, great fenders, and great gibsons. You cant really compare one company to another because their production guitars are always changing, for better or worse.

Theres probably heaps of ibanez's i'd love to play. Theres probably alot I'd loath too. I pick my guitars on a model by model basis, not by company. My GAX70 is a peice of shit, that doesnt mean ibanez makes shit guitars, it means its one of the shit guitars they made.

Never assume a guitar is good or bad just from the company its made by.

+1,000,000.

Don't let brands blind you. I personally don't like Ibanezes because I have tendonitis and the neck does not provide me with enough thumb support to keep me from cramping up.

Also, one of my favorite guitars right now is my Squier '51. Sure, it's made in Indonesia and is of the Squier brand. Sure, it only cost $80. But, holy crap, does it have some great sounds.

I think it's all personal preference. The higher end Ibanez guitars are very well made and are great players. They are available as well, which makes it pretty easy to play before you buy, which is a very big thing in my opinion. That said, I have 3 7's at the moment; a brand new 1527, a 7620 with an alder/purpleheart Chris Woods body, and a Carvin 727.
The Carvin gets 99% of my time, and I can't see that changing.

The one thing that really really impresses me about Agile is how well they listen to and appreciate their customers.

Production wise, Ibanez is definitely not the best bang for the buck. A comparitively priced Schecter compared to a 1527 slays it in almost every non-subjective aspect. Price, hardware and wood on the Schecters are superior and as a subjective opinion, Schecters just seem to be built better as a whole. I've got a bunch of cell phone pics of various prestige Ibanez's that have flaws so brutal I'm stunned that they made it thru QC.

I wont' say Schecter is the best either because I haven't played a single Agile and from the reviews I keep reading, they're definitely great value for the dollar.
