Who will build me a 27", reverse headstock RG neck?

Hey guys,

I'm sure you can help me with this one: I know there are a couple builders out there who make RG necks, but I'm looking for a builder who will build me this:

- 27" scale
- reversed RG headstock
- creme binding
- Wizard I profile
- AANJ

as quickly as possible. I wouldn't really want to wait for 4-5 months before getting it...I'm on a budget, so I would be okay with a level of quality on par with the original 7321 neck.

I live in Germany, so european builders are preferred, but not required.

Siggi Braun will probably do it. He's a friendly guy so just send him an email and ask.
He's located near stuttgart.

OT, but god damn this finish is gorgeous:

looks like the guitar is made of metal and is melting

What kind of a "budget" are you talking about? Any custom builder probably isn't going to want to produce an "Indonesian factory" quality neck, and certainly not in a compressed schedule.

There's an old axiom that goes something like, "Good/Fast/Cheap... you can have any two."

Considering you're putting limits on the budget and the production time while still dictating a fairly "custom shop" spec sheet (27" scale and cream binding), what you'll end up with – assuming you can even find a builder to take it on – may not meet your expectations for quality or playability.

This space intentionally left blank.

That is pretty nice looking. The headstock would look better a little wider though. So a 7th string would help with that nicely.

And that top strap button looks angled weird. At that angle it doesn't look like the upper horn would have much support.

ANYWAYS, some ideas for some builders. Roter guitars might be able to make you something like that for pretty cheap. Although I'm not sure how close he is to you. And over here in the states there is Christopher Woods guitars. I know he does a lot of that stuff. And I know it's not really around you, but it's worth bringing up.

Thanks for the suggestions, I'll try Siggy and Roter for now.

I wasn't too concerned with actual build time, but I just wanted to avoid a builder who's backlogged for the next 6 months. If building it takes 2-3 weeks, that's fine, as long as I don't have to wait for a couple months until actual building starts.

Sure, there's no free lunch, and I wasn't looking for Indo-level quality (mine's MIK, should have mentioned it), but it doesn't have to be a 500 dollar-neck if possible.

2-3 weeks? Good luck with that. Even the custom builders who manage their workflow well are still going to have a bit of a backlog and will be working on several instruments at once.

Sure, it only takes a few days of solid work to build a neck from beginning to end, but that's generally not how builders operate.

I'm not trying to be a buzzkill, but i do think you need to go into a project like this with realistic expectations, otherwise you'll be disappointed. Just trying to be realistic, that's all.

i work on one or two projects at a time, and 2/3 weeks on a neck is pushing it even then to get it prefect...

try a month from me lol

but still, ask about 3/4 months from big builders, if you want perfect.
