![]() | My 21st birthday today! A lame picstory. It's my 21st birthday today. And for those of you who are all "RABBLE RABBLE RABBLE WRONG SECTION RABBLE RABBLE," just be patient. ![]() So it's all mah burfday en stufffff. And I know I have a big day ahead of me. Lots of people are wanting to get me drunk for my first time. I'm allergic to wheat, and since a lot of alcohol has wheat and such in it, I've never gone drinking or had any alcohol besides the celebratory wine for Thanksgiving kind of thing. But recently, I've discovered wheat-free beer and different alcohols that I can have. So, if I don't respond to anybody on this thread for a day or so, pleave forgive me. ![]() And thanks Nerina for finding me that article. ![]() ANYWAYS, before all you peeps get way too impatient with me for posting this stuff in the sevenstring section. I present to you, something that might give you some major gas...if you're into this sort of thing anyways. BEHOLD... I've been very patient with this project to make sure everything went perfectly... This may give you GAS for you Ibby lovers.... ![]() My Ibanez Xiphos 7 Au' Naturale! ![]() 05072008.jpg 05072008(001).jpg 05072008(002).jpg 05072008(003).jpg I finished it just in time for my birthday. I started with a stock XPT707 and hand sanded the whole thing. I was originally just going to sand the neck, but decided I didn't like the body paint afterwards and went ahead and did everything. Hand sanded. The body and neck has been tung oiled. 5 coats. Routed for EMGs. 707 in the neck and 81-7 in the bridge. Removed the tone knob and relocated the volume control. Installed momentary on/off killswitch. Relocated bottom strap button to reduce neck heaviness. Bottom strap button flushmount dunlop lock. Schaller mini locking tuners. A picture of the neck sanding process. Just because I felt like including it. ![]() 03132008(006).jpg Also, my camera is sort of lame. The quality isn't the best because I'm limited to taking pictures with my phone for the time being. Anyways, it plays great and sounds a lot more clear without the paint on there. I'm enjoying it a lot. That being said, I'm off to bed because I have a long day ahead of me. ![]() |

![]() | Thanks Michael, thanks Steve. ![]() And DDDorian, I would definately do the same to the 6 string version. I really didn't care for the finish on those either. This one was okay, it just started to bug me after awhile. Instead of looking chameleon after awhile if just started to look sparkley. And sparkley just doesn't do it for this badass of a guitar. I felt it needed something more. Plus, I'm just the type of person that feels the need to change almost everything on his guitars, haha. ![]() |
