Ibanez Floyd Question/guitar paint question

Well, being the die hard ESP fan that i am i have always been sceptical of buying other guitars, but i got this RG prestige for a deal for a project and am in the need of some serious advise.
first off.
I LOATH the Ibanez bridge/floyd copy thing. nothing but frustration my ESP M-II's are lovely, i mean they're like gods i hate it, i just don't like it and was wondering what would be involved with replacing it with a genuine Original Floyd Rose 7 string bridge? also, i'm not fond of the pickups either, or the paintjob since it's been chipped badly i'd like to repaint it.

since the stock pickups are not active how involved would it be to slap some EMG 707's in there? your help would be greatly appreciated

strap up, plug in, rock on
stay metal

There are probably answers to this in the "Pickups/Electronics/General Tech section, so take a look and odds are you'll find your answers without much trouble.

That said, I don't know much about Ibanez trems, but adding in EMG 707s or Blackouts would require some routing. In the case of the EMGs or Phase II Blackouts (the big square ones) you'd have to rout out for depth as well as the sides of the pickups, as they're a little wider on the corners than the stock passive pickups.

If you go with Phase I Blackouts (my own personal recommendation...) you will either have to shim the neck or route out the pickup holes to a greater depth, as well as widen the ears and stuff. The pots would have to be swapped to 25kohm pots, and a stereo jack with battery clip would have to be added.

Why not sell it and buy something more in line with what you're looking for?

hey man, thanks for the help. well, with the paint chips and everything i seriously doubt i'd get much for it but every little bit does help, it would help me save up for the Horizon FR-II
plus if i sell it i wouldn't have a 7 and what use would i be on here? lol
i would if there were any serious takers, all kidding aside, minor cosmetic flaws and all. i'm in a hotel right now and not on my personal comp so i have no pictures available but if there is any interest i will sell it ASAP but the prospect of a semi-custom build project is always fun

why, u wanna buy it? lol
be cool guys

Which ibanez trem is it? If its a TRS type, then you can direct swap with an OFR 7. Others might work (Same trem post spacing, but different route sizes) but im not sure if they're direct or not.

Also, +1 for blackouts. They're passive sized, but you'll probably have to, as stated above, route down a bit, but thats easier to do since its not a cosmetically oriented routing job.
