DR Titefit question.....

I don't know if this belongs here or General Tech, so mods move if needed. My question is how do these strings sound, and also do they minimize fret buzz and allow for slightly lower action when compared to a standard string, an EB Slinky for instance?

DR's are all hand-wound. Tite Fits are wound Super Tight. Almost where a .46 will feel like a .44 or .42. So i guess by keeping the same tension but being a little thinner, that helps you to be able to lower your action a little bit more.

Do you like them? I thought about giving them a go for my C7.

Awesome, awesome strings, best I've found. Really slinky feel, beautiful bright tone. First thing you'll notice is that they're really friggin' loud when you play the guitar unplugged. I've not compared the lowest usable action between them and other strings, but I run a very low action on each of my guitars, with little to no fret buzz.

I use the 10-56 Jeff Healey sig gauge pack btw (I'm still only a 6-stringer), though getting hold of them is an absolute bitch in the UK.

But seriously, DR is my brand of choice, but I haven't tried these. I will have to get an order in, they sound excellent.

I really liked them for the first few days, everything Nolly said about them I agree with, but they would corrode really fast for me, which is likely just the composition of my sweat

The plain strings would start to rust after only 2 or 3 days.

I did love the feel of them for the first few days, though.

Been loving the DR MT7-10's. Haven't had any problems with DR strings at all. They seem to last longer than any other brand I've tried, have a wonderful sound and feel.

I use titewounds, and I have to be honest, I'm pretty damn happy. I used to use Ernie Balls, but those unwound crazy fast. I've tried D'Addarios before but I can't really remember how I liked those. I'm trying Elixirs soon...
As long as you stretch them, they're pretty good. No complaints. I play in D standard with 10-46s and I'm pretty happy. Very VERY easy to go from fret to fret, very slide-able strings. Have a very nice sound with everything I've tried. In D standard they're bendy (slinky, whatever the proper term is) enough to bend the strings, do pinch harmonics, etc, without any problems, but they're tight enough to not you know... lame up on you. Very good sound from my experience thus far. I've been using DR Titefits since December.
My Ernie balls lasted like 2 weeks, maybe 3, often less; these things are lasting me a month per set. A little less, depending on how crazy I go. I know you're supposed to change strings every 24 hours of playing, but oh well.
