We have to thank Korn for the 7 string loving, 'cause a lot of korn fans started using them when they saw korn with them.

I've never gotten any hate about playing a 7. The old guys who have seen one of them think they are actually pretty sweet.. playing clean jazz or blues on a 7 usually sells them on it.

The trick is to make the six-string guitarist look like an idiot before he tries to make you look like one. "OMG WTF LOOK AT THAT GUY! HE'S MISSING A STRING! CHECK OUT THE GUY WITH THE GIRLIEGUITAR!". ok. i don't actually say that to people.

most people are kind of surprised when they actually count the amount of strings on my guitar.

I'm a guitarist, not a 'sevenstring guitarist'. my guitar just happens to have seven strings.

I think whether or not someone gets sold on seven-stringed guitars is if the person playing the guitar is good or not. Same applies for any other gear.

I've converted the last two guitarists (of merit) I have played with as well. They got sold pretty quickly as we started jamming/writing music.

DarkKnight369 is just really niceDarkKnight369 is just really nice
As far as I am concerned there are 2 reasons why a person wouldn't like a 7:

1.) They only really use the top 4 strings on their 6, so have no need for a 7th string.
2.) They lack the mental capacity to understand the tonal benefits of having a 7 string.

As far as comfort, and all that, its clearly acceptable. Most of the time those people respect the 7, they just can comfortably get themselves to play one.

My thinking is that since almost all bass players have 5-strings, guitarists need to "evolve" to match that low B string. No one ever questions the 5 string bass, and the 7 string is just a natural match for it. I just think 6-stringers are missing out on some added benefits, and then trying to "cheat" by downtuning 2.5 steps to get to B.

Its like a guy with a 6" dick telling a guy with a 7" dick "7-inches! Hell I can barely use 6!"

I've actually never had anyone say anything bad about my 7. Funny enough..when I tell people I play 7s, they immediately think ''Damn! You must be talented!'' haha..I try to go along with it, but when they hear me play, it's a different story
