The dude is pretty much the staple of ignorance though, so I guess he lives in bliss. He will only play Fender or Gibson guitars because according to him, they are the best because they have been around the longest. Its funny because he is willing to drop $1-2K on a guitar, but he is a cheap ass on his rig and cables. Whatever though, we will be/are writing some songs in A. He can play his 6 string Les Pauls while I play my 7's.
Ask him if a steam engine car is better then a modern sportscar. Accordingly to his logic the steam engine should be better because it's been around longer

Point! Though, imo, people that have that kind of reasoning are not even worth arguing with. Closed mind ftl.

I seem to meet more Gospel and Church musicians, and the first comment out of their mouths is "You play a 7? You must LOOOOOOOOOOOVE Jazz! Wanna sit in with my Jazz trio?"
I always decline because I don't have the chops...

I agree. I pointed out the quality control issues Gibson has experienced in the past few years, and even before that. He gets all upsets and defensive, basically not believing a word a say.

That's why I was confused. I was like, "That sounds like Italmelodie... but since when do they carry Schecters?"

Still, Italmelodie = win. I even played a RG2228 over there once. I'm gonna have to make my way over there to try out some sevens soon

The more I play my 7, the more my 6's feel inferior. I use to love them both, but I play Drop C on my 6 strings. If I wanted to I can use one of my 7's and do the Devin Townsend tuning and throw the low G into the mix. More tonal options, and I would match what my bassist tunes to anyway.
