Custom 7 ideas on the roll

I've been toying with ideas for a while, First it was a baritone upgrade, then a enck-thru, etc.

I'm pretty stuck on getting a Bolt on 7, but I was wondering if anyone had any advice on the body.

I'm looking for something pretty mcuh identical to Alexi laiho's Limited edition black/pink Sig, so it's a Rhoads style V with quite a cutaway. Because of the extra string on the neck though, i was wondering if i should make the body any bigger to balance it out. Stuh84 has an RR7 and the body on it looks way too small.

Any help appreciated.

Who are you having build the custom for you? Or are you doing it yourself? Almost any luthier that you're talking to a build about should be really informative about that kind of thing. You could try drawing a few pictures too!

I'm getting the neck mode by Roter hopefully, and I'll be building the body for it myself. I know luthiers I could ask about it, but in all honesty I wouldn't value their opinion much on anything outside a modded strat.

Do a Death Rhoads. That would be sick, and there should be an increase in the upper wing length/change in angle to help balance a bit more. If you are worried about the weight being balanced, go with a heavier piece of wood for the body too.

Death Rhoads...? - I'm not familiar with them, I think.

I was worried about using a heavy piece of wood because Alexi's 6 String one is heavy enough as it is, WIthout adding on the extra size...

the Death Rhoads would just be a normal Rhoads with the rear end of a Death Angel. they look really sick. If i ever get a jackson custom its totally what i would order.

As for the Alexi, I'm surprised that its heavy. Alder isn't known for its weight. I always find that V shaped guitars tend to be lighter in the body than most guitars and thus a bit off balanced. Its just a price you have to pay to be so metal.

Haha, It's a lovely guitar, no question. It just looks a bit unbalanced from what (little) I've seen of it.

That'd be pretty hard, considering I'm making the body a one piece job
