Well, keep in mind the price conversion. What goes for a grand here typically goes for around a thousand pounds in the UK. Things arent really priced off the US prices. theyre priced according to the economy of the country they are sold in. Sure, you could buy here for less, but then you have to import it, customs etc, which iirc in norway could be likened to getting raped by a yeti

yeah, that's pretty rough. i bought my Squier Stagemaster-7 for $40 used. i had to put new pickups in it but even with that it still only brought me up to about $180.

What's the guitar worth to you?

To me, it's definately not worth $500. The Squire Stagemaster VII went for around $300 brand new, but most stores had to knock extra money off the price to sell them, as they were not the most outstanding guitars for the average seven string guitarist to play.

It sounds like it might not be a bad price for your local market, and they're certainly not BAD guitars...

...but if you don't need another guitar and do need monitors, then it's NOT a good deal.

I paid £100 for my Stagemaster 7, so Evo's or not that's a crap deal. Even if the Dimario's are going to cost the same as that guitar new, they're not worth that second hand. About that in fact. I'd say he needs to shave about 1/3 off his price.

I'd say it depends on how it plays and is acoustically, a higher quality version of the same axe should fetch a higher price.

Correct

Let`s say I was to get a guitar that cost 699$

The shipping to Norway would be around 100$..(give or take)

799$ = 3,960.55 NOK

3,960.55 NOK * 1,25 (VAT)= 4950 NOK

Which translates to 998.641 USD.

Plus, the Post charges a 40$ fee for the customs clearance..

That`s over 1000$ for a guitar that originally cost 699..

The Stagemaster HT7 cost around 1200$ new in Norway, just to give you a ballpark example..

Mesa Dual Recto = app 4000$
The cheapest store price for a EBMM JP6 = 3025$
Mesa Road king = 7600$

The exchange rate has to be taken into consideration, but as you can see, equipment prices can`t be directly compared across the borders.

the squier VII originally cost 908 bucks (approx.) in norwegian stores... so is a 908 dollar guitar with upgraded pickups, worth around 200 bucks per pickup, worth it for 500, including the old pups, and with the guitar having some minor scratching? :P

if you see it from THAT perspective, it´s suddenly a bit more worth it :P

and yeah, i´m getting studio monitors

Stick with the stuff you need the most, which apparently is studio monitors.
