i'm not sure if the korean serial numbers work the same as the japanese ones, but if they do, that would indicate a guitar built in 2000.

Those were built around 1999/2000 I think. Its pretty normal to see mis-informed auctions on ebay.

Slightly off topic, but exactly how horrible are those guitars?

noticeably worse/cheaper-feeling than the Japanese-made AX7521, which was only made in 1999. if you must have an AX series 7-string, go for the 7521.

they're 24.75" scale...imo not ideal for 7-strings. a bit neck-heavy, as well. the 7521 was my first 7, though.

That was my first guitar, a 1998 AX7521GP. I've owned 3 more since then as well, and I actually really like the AX7521. It's a very comfortable guitar to play, and definitely has a thicker tone due to the Mahogany body.

I've owned one of the AX7221s as well, and the quality is definitely not there. You can find a 'diamond in the rough' and get a good AX7221, but it's pretty unlikely.

Thanks guys. I've been lookn' to get a cheap-ish 7 for a project, always see those going cheap on the bay figured I might get one and yank the frets off it for a fretless 7.

I should also add that the necks on those are the width of a tree trunk. They are ridiculously fat.
