Bravo! Yeah, your guy did what I ended up doing, which is shaving the route ahead of the floyd. There wasn't any other modification to the route necessary with mine.

The shimming of the saddles, while certainly necessary for playability, wouldn't affect the string spacing. I suspect your guy just spend the time necessary to get your nut aligned right. Since mine's not got a locknut, it just never came up.

That's nice that he trimmed the block on the floyd. I just cut a hole in the back plate! I would've had to take a decent bit off the block because I like the action pretty low, so I just didn't bother.

I know it's tough with the new capacitor in there, but do you notice a tone difference between the licenbsed and the OFR, or is strictly a 'feel' difference?

i can't speak for Nick, but i noticed a definite tone difference between the LFR and OFR on my 727. the OFR is slightly brighter, but in a good way. just richer and fuller sounding and more sustain compared to the LFR. and it just performs better. it's just pure win on every level.

Ya I agree with Ed, the guitar definitely sounds brighter, but not thinner.
the guitar just "feels better" with this trem on there. I switched strings and gauge
as well so I've got a few things to experiment with and to take into consideration.
I had been using Dr High Beam 9-46+60 but I went with D'Addario 9-42+56. (I was worried about intonation problems with the 60).
so between the capacitor, the trem and the strings I've got several things to take into account, but the tone difinitely did change.
I think I will try going back to the DR 9-46 + 60 on my next string change and see if the slightly heavier strings sound any different. (they did when I initially put them on with the old trem on there)
Plus I know the DR's are still 9's but they feel thicker to me (in a good way) thatn the D'Addarios do).

Can I be the devil on your shoulder?

Unless your tech pulled a .056 D'Addario out of some other string set, the low B is a .059. Their standard super-lite 7-string set is .009/.059. It's well balanced... a .056 on the low end would feel pretty flubby. The .059 intonates fine on mine by the way.

"Brighter, but not thinner" was about my experience with the LoPro-OFR swap, too, although a LoPro and an original Floyd are so radically different in construction that really I'm not shocked.

You didn't go to Mouridian this time, hey? If I may ask, who'd you take it to? The guy sounds pretty detailed-oriented, and unlike Mouridian probably doesn't roll his eyes whenever he sees a pointy headstock and an OFR.

I need to shim my saddles, too - the inner strings are JUST barely too low.

Anyway, I'm glad that worked out for you, Nick! It looks great
