NGD: Loomis NT (56k: Ya bleedin'? Yeahhh ya bleedin'.) [new amp day too!!!]

So I found this in my living room today upon returning from the supermarket (cat loves cardboard!):

OOOO!!!

He helped take off the plastic, greedy bastid:

1...(always start with the middle)

2...

3...

Brace yourself for laughter...

WOWWWW

Another helper arrives:

Much darker than I had expected

Out of the box it played nice. Very comfortable and slick. I haven't had the chance to plug it in to this bad boy yet:

I got this a few days ago. I'll copy and paste the HC thread I made about it:

"Just received this amp via special order through Guitar Center. First impressions are very good. I'm playing through a Genz Benz G-Flex 2x12.

Two channels: clean and distortion. Each channel has a dedicated switchable preamp that has gain, treble, mid, sweep, and bass controls. Each channel has presence (clean)/Gain (distortion), treble, mid, sweep, bass, reverb, decimator, and volume controls. Master section has Effects Loop level, Solo boost volume and master volume controls.

I was somewhat skeptical ordering this because of the limited information available on it, not many sound clips, and being a solid-state amp. But all the skepticism was put to rest when I flipped the on switch.

This amp is extremely versatile. I am a high gain player for the most part. The distortion on this is very clear, articulate and most importantly, brutal! It's very mean sounding. You can hear every note in a chord when you play one. The amp has a voice of his own but if I had to define the sound based on familiar tones, I would say it has the grind of a Mesa, with the mid punch of a Marshall, and the low end punch you can only dream of. The clean is stellar, I cannot emphasize that any more.

The reverb is excellent, one of the best I have heard built into an amp. The decimator noise reduction system is excellent and works as it should. I played on it for about 3 hours straight last night at loud volumes and it didn't show any signs of "fatigue" that I find a lot of solid state amps acquire after long periods of performance.

In pictures, the front of the amp looks like it has a black grill cloth but this is not the case. It is this shiny, black carbon fiber like material behind a thick piece of plexi-glass. It actually looks really cool."

Here is a link to some sound clips of it; more coming soon with the Loomis!!!

that looks gorgeous, congrats! But at the same time it makes me very sad that I am unable to sell my XPT707FX and get a Loomis myself...I am very jealous.
