I'd buy one of those in a heartbeat.

+ some very large number here too. I am hoping that the neck-through 8-string comes to be before the end of May. That would take priority. I'd love it to look just like the Violin Sunburst Interceptor 7, but neck-through, 28-5/8" scale, 8-strings and around $600 are plenty good enough stats for me.

The Ultimate Question: What string gauge is needed for 18.84# of tension when tuned to E2 on a 27" scale guitar?

Maybe I'll get that color instead of matte black.

If that emg-equipped guitar came with a string-thru bridge, I'd be buying a new guitar right now.

One would hope that they're actually using real maple laminate on these now, because the 727 belonging to Kronpox that I just worked on had a 'photo' flame top when examined closely. Very well made guitar for the price otherwise though.

They're photo flames? Every one i've seen pics of has had totally different figure patterns, something you don't see on photo flames. Are you sure it wasn't just a badly stained veneer?

Quite. Genuine flame or quilt maple will visibly 'shimmer' as you hold it under light and move it back and forth, whereas photo flame does not. I see lots of this on some Asian guitars at work. The paper thin layer was also clearly apparent from the inside of the pickup cavities as I was enlarging them to accommodate the extra bulk of the Lundgren and Dimarzio's I was installing in it.
It's really not a big deal, but if they're openly advertising "Genuine" flame maple, well, there are lots of us that do know the difference. As I said though, other than that, i thought it was a very cool axe, and certainly worth the coin.
