Thing I like about Rusty''s tone...is that its Rusty's tone. I've heard so much of his stuff by now that I can definitely go "yeah, that's Rusty". Curious to hear him with the Blackouts.

His custom, if you noticed, was origionally routed for a single coil (im guessing a blaze middle).

I think it was a situation where EMG said 'hey, we'll give you an endorsement if you want" and he took it.

now he's got one from SD.
I've heard him say in interviews that he preferred the EMGs over anything for sevens, so I'm simply going from that.

I'm assuming he's going to want to mass produce these rack pies, and why not? I love racks, I love pies, so put them together and you have pie covered titties. - JJ

theshred201 will become famous soon enough
He initially put those in, didn't like them as much, and swapped back to 707's, just so you guys know (or at least he said he did)

Yup! I know the video you're speaking of. He says for 7 strings, EMG's are the only way to go.

Of course, 7 string Blackouts weren't available back then I don't believe. He's obviously heard the hype and tried them out and approved!

If even Rusty's converted, I think I gotta try these bad boys out...but for $180 for two...ouch.

180 is still cheaper than 2 707s

Looking for an Ibanez RG970XL

a) his main 2 both still have EMGs
b) it's angled because the cutaway would leave too little wood around the neck pickup route for it to be structurally sound
c) his tone is good, for what it does, but I agree it lacks any balls or power
