You'd really like it, actually, since it is far more like an S7620 than a Fusion. It thins out at the edges, although not quite as sharply as an S, and the neck is thinner, with harder shoulders. Hell, it even has an Edge Pro on it.

I shot that in raw, and did some playing around with Adobe Lightroom to make that happen. It is a solid, two-piece chunk of flamed maple, with a simple oil finish. You have to catch the light and angle just right, and then it looks absolutely stunning.

I really do like the Dean, but you're far too kind about my playing. I'm sort of like Holdsworth if he played a bunch of random notes...

That's far and away the best picture that has ever been taken of that guitar.

It's based on Jackson's Stealth body shape (like an Ibanez Sabre but not quite as thin). The body is two-piece quilted maple (no veneer), with a maple neck, rosewood board, Lo-Pro trem, neck 707 and bridge Blackout. It originally had a bridge 707, too, but the Blackout makes a huge difference, and now it sounds as good as it looks. Noodles is right about the neck--it feels very similar to a 7620 or 7420--much thinner than anything Ibanez makes now.

It's one of the very first 7-strings that Jackson ever made, and as such it has some oddities. I'm pretty sure that it's the first Jackson 7-string with a trem, and the guys at Jackson didn't seem to know that all 7-string locking nuts are 1 7/8" wide. They made a 2" wide neck and just put the 1 7/8" nut in it. It works fine but looks a little odd. They also didn't rout the trem installation quite deep enough, so I had to shim up the neck a bit to get the action right. I suspect the original owner bought a 7620 and sent the trem to Jackson (Jackson couldn't have used it OEM), and Jackson had no experience in how to properly deal with Ibanez trems. Some of the next batch of 7-strings, such as Rusty Cooley's guitar and the infamous 'Death Warrior', also had Lo-Pros, and I'm going to guess that Jackson had their shit figured out by then.

Regardless, it's a wicked player that I've grown to love, and that means that, no, Noodles, I won't trade it for the Dean...

BTW, it was great to see Matt and Dave again and to meet Andy! Andy's splatter KXK has to be seen in person to be believed. A beautiful piece of work.

Matt's Thorn Telecaster is one of the best-sounding guitars on this or any other planet. It sounds like nothing else I've ever heard.
