What do ya think? (need advise/ideas)

i am seriously considering saving for a 7 string guitar, mainly, one from warmoth.
anyone had any dealings with them?
what im thinking is:
one piece mahogany 7s body
rear routed HxH and a fixed bridge.
tummy and forarm cut, contoured heel.
maple neck with ebony boad (only side dots)
dunno wether to get a 25' or a baritone scale neck
24 frets (6150's)
black hardware, oil finish on the body.
and hopefully some bareknuckle painkillers
so, what does everyone think?

like this, but with a mahogany body, and no headstock veneer

...Each guitarist has an evil fat 40 year old blueswankler trying to get out, If you give in to temptation you'll be sitting next to a fender playing john lee hooker while trying to keep your combover in place.

I heard warmoth only does odd scale lengths for 7 strings. they don't really cater to 7 stringers.
i'd say mike sherman. He can build you anything you want, exactly how you want it.

Yeah, Warmoths scale length options for 7 string necks certainly aren't optimal..

i was just checking out Warmoth's site, and can only find 25" scale 7 string necks. i know they used to have that, and a 28.XXX (?) scale too IIRC... basically one extreme to the other.

IMO 25.5" is the bare minimum for a seven string neck.

Well Sherman is a given, but dude you're in Australia! I think you're insane if you don't check out Oni - Dan makes some of the most beautiful instruments I've ever seen.

well my main reason for the warmoth is just the price, and beause it would be an ok little hobby to do myself, as for mike, i doubt i could pay for a custom, and if i could id probly get perry ormsby to make me one
who/what is Oni??

Demeyes will become famous soon enough
You could get the body from Warmoth and then get someone to make a custom neck for it. It would end up costing a bit but I'd say not a whole lot more than a neck from warmoth. Then you could get anything you want on it.
