i did it once, before i knew the correct amount that the screw should be turned. had to replace the nut on that guitar, as well as a number of other things i've done to make it fully giggable again.

low quality parts. i've gone thru 2 locking nuts on my blue Carvin. i had a chunk of the nut around the thread break off on one of them, and had stripped out the threads on another. these were both Carvin locking nuts. no problems with the OFR7 nut on there now, even though it doesn't look or feel a whole lot different.

I doubt Ibanez LACS use low quality parts somehow. No matter how much anyone hates them you can't say that about them. (not saying that you will I just know someone will though)

i'm not saying the guitars are low quality. i'm sure the trems they use on the LACS are just standard Lo Pro or Edge trems and locking nuts, which aren't exactly indestructable.
