![]() ![]() ![]() | I'm gonna get a Xiphos 7... in July, before I leave for Berklee, as a Birthday present. I tried one yesterday, and was blown away. I really do prefer the Wizard II-7 as the the Wizard 7. I guess I prefer the flatter back. Aside from that, the finish was amazing! Everything I want in a finish. Flashy yet mysterious, brutal yet calming. It reminded me of a cold winter night. I can't say I've a fan of the DA7's, but I'll probably pick up some Blazes, or a Drop Sonic if they have in stock. Maybe even BLACKOUTS ZOMG. The body shape is probably my favorite in terms of comfort. It sits perfectly on my body in both standard and classical position. The bridge was very comfortable, and very smooth, it didn't jut into my hands like my 7621 and occasionally my Septor. It felt more like my RGA, which has, IMO, the most comfortable bridge on the planet. I'm surprised with myself though. I aways thought myself to be a trem person, but the more and more I play my fixed bridges, the more I prefer them. For me, a trem is more of a novelty than part of my style. The only thing that turned me off is that my local Sam Ash didn't offer a case. ![]() I'm going to make this pencil disapper |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | it's funny you should mention about the trem. i've been an adamant locking trem player for about 8 years, but the more i think about getting my next 7, the more i'm finding a fixed bridge more appealing. Don't ask me why. Less hassle perhaps? Maybe. Probably because, as you said yourself, it's becoming less my style. I rarely actually use the trem anymore, and any trem tricks i used to do i'll find a way to do something similar in a left-hand technique instead. I know i'd miss my divebombs though... |
