It's funny, because in the box says: "Used Schecter with used case" and value marks: 269$ It seems that Tim Mauery knows how to avoid customs

And do yourself a favor and try the Loomis, it beats the fuck of the Hellraiser

Good thing you didnt have to file an insurance claim.

Glory and praise to Thee, Satan, on high,
Where Thou didst reign, in Hell where Thou dost lie,
Vanquished, silent, dreaming eternally.
Grant that my soul some day rest close to Thee
Under the Tree of Knowledge which shall spread
Its branches like a Temple overhead.

Personally I take the chance of underinsuring from overseas. I insured my Caparison for like $400 and it arrived in perfect condition and had no duty tax on a $1700 guitar. You just have to make sure the shipper knows how to pack a guitar. I was actually more afraid of it getting hung up in customs than paying a duty. If it does get held up in customs and is of high value they can inspect it. I can tell you right now the last thing I want is some asshat in customs opening my guitar, inspecting it and doing a halfassed job at packing it back up.
