Hey - All mahogany 7 strings recomendation?
Hey, do you guys know of any all mahogany 7 strings? Most of the ones I've seen were designed with shredders in mind, so it's been mostly maple and alder. I could go to Warmoth, but I'd rather check out what other options there are. A maple cap would be bonus.

Well that basically sums up the Epiphone LP7. Mahogany neck & body and a flame maple cap. Only availble in trans black. I've never played one but the general concensus is that the pickups suck, but pickups are easy to replace, and the neck is bigger than a baseball bat, which isn't so good.

I have two Carvins and a Schecter Hellraiser now all Mahogany and they rock...(P.S. I hear at NAMM this year schecter might unveil a Floyd Rose equiped Hellraiser 7 string? (i pray))...Mahogany Looks good too if you like Brown

Loomis has been playing his Hellraiser with the Floyd for a while now - I'm guessing they've got a lot of requests for them from people who've seen it.

I'd certainly consider one...

yes i would guess he had more then a few reasons for why they might do it? good call!! but i also think sales prove that too. Schecters sell really well!! Hey have you ever heard of Ron Thorn? he is the guy who does all of Schecters custom Inlays..like the crazy really dosed up ones ? he also makes guitars(not sevens) but nice customs... www.thornguitars.com

Ah, I didn't know Thorn did Schecter's inlays. His custom work is excellent.

Are we talking bodies here...isn't the Washburn Sonic 7 mahogany. Also the Ibanez S series 7 stringers, aren't they mahogany with a maple top?

True, they both are. I got the impression he was looking for Les Paul-type construction, mahogany neck & body.
