NGD toner white DC727 pics
I just got in my matte white/white Carvin 727. I had them put a satin clearcoat over the white. Blank ebony board, and stainless frets. Excuse the quality of the pictures.

Thanks, the matte paint looks kinda strange on the rounded body of the Carvin. It makes it look almost like its made of plastic for some reason.

For some reason, I think it makes it look a bit like a Parker.

I had to screw out the thumb wheel thingy from the tuner for the low B string, drop the pin out, and widen the tuner hole. I think Carvin had it set up for a .056 or .058 gauge low B string. I have 9.5-13-17-26-36-49-64 on it now in A standard. I had to re-intonate a bit, but it was setup perfect for the strings that were on it.

I figured that I can always buff out the white later if it starts looking bad, but I hate fingerprints, so I went with the matte coating. The last gloss black guitar I had made me never want another gloss guitar. Fingerprint city.

It's stock tone woods. Maple neck, Alder wings. I was trying to keep the costs reasonable. It was only about 940$ total. I got my order in before they started charging again for shipping.

Fantastic lookin' DC727 there!

I love the white-white. I pushed for years for them to bring that color back.
If Carvin ever gets around to building a 7-string version of the Ultra-V, I want one in white-white, black hardware, ebony fretboard. Much like your 727.

I guess I should mention that the white/white paintjob seemed to add signifigantly to the build time. It took 3 months total to build. The guy I called at Carvin said that it was a horribly difficult paint job to do right for some reason. I almost had them change the paint to something different, but it was almost done by that time.
And yea, if Carvin makes a 7 ultra-v or carved top 7, I'll have to sell a kidney.

I debated throwing a matte finish on a trans green flame top... then decided i can live with the fingerprints to have a finish i've been fantasizing about owning for the last 4 or 5 years

hopefully i can order my DC727 by june
