Is an extended scale really worth some extra buck??

are they really woth anything? can you even really notice the difference? I'm generally talking about the 27" scale. that's what most 7s seem to be if they have an extended scale...

A 28" custom neck, I used to play 26.5 before so adjusting to it should be similar as going from 25.5 to 27.

alright. you'll have to let me know how that works out for ya. I've been playin on 25.5" for a while now and I've just been lookin into other guitars like the stefb7 and rgxl1077 or whatever it is. I'd like to learn some more about bigger scale lengths. Ive also got a 26.5" schecter but i don't really notice a huge difference of playability between that and my 1527 (besides action... but I doubt that has anything to do with sclae length)

if you were playing 26.5 scale, you were already playing extended scale - dunno why you'd want to go for 28' though

3 cheers for free gear!

There is basically no difference between 25.5 and 26.5, I had a 0.64 tuned to C to get the tension I wanted but of course having that big of a string was a fucking pain in the as. so I hope that with a 28" I can go to C with a 59 or hopefully something smaller.

oh hell no, there is definitely difference between 25.5 and 26.5.

my tokai, with 10-52's in standard has noticeably less tension then my C7 in standard tuning.
