![]() ![]() | I notice a difference in tension between my RG7420 and the Loomis. I prefer the tension of the Loomis and I am curious to try a 27" scale guitar. The Loomis is just right though I think, especially because I am used to playing 25.5" guitars. |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | My Schecter is a 26.5" scale. It had a little more growl, but overall, the string tension balanced out nicely. I still use 10's and I when I bend them, they play like my 6ers, but the tension makes my pick hand happy. In any language that you learn to speak -- love is twisted and defined as weak TheMissing's GAScon status: GAScon 4... I'm doing pretty good at the moment. ![]() |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I like the string tension on the long scale gutiars, but I can not stand the sound of them. They start sounding like distorted basses, and not low tuned guitars, IMO. ...that the play is the tragedy, "Man" http://www.fools-game.com/ |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | i don't notice a hell of a lot of difference between 25.5" and 26.5", but 27" feels significantly different compared to 25.5" to me. i personally prefer 27" scale sevens. they just handle lower tunings better than 25.5" IMO, sounds more even and in tune with the ADGCFAD tuning that i use on all my sevens. |

First of all should you decide to remain in standard tuning (B) you can go with lighter strings which trust me is awesome! So whatever set strings you used for your tuning on a 25.5" scale guitar you can go a bit lighter with the strings to get the same tuning. Secondly, should you decide to suddenly detune/tune lower than standard/others, your lower bass notes will have more clarity and crispness making those power chords and what not just sound a lot better. I have played the SC607B and felt it was really awesome. |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | For me, I just did not like the sound of a long scale guitar tuned to B. I found that there was a certain "piano like" quality to the low notes that I did not like. It has a sharpness to the low end that I expect out of a bass, but not a guitar. |
