if you have finished the cutting and buffing and are up to the final polishing try something like this Autoglym - car cleaning products, car care products, car valeting, car detailing it is my all time favourite finishing polish.

I have checked and it is available in the US.

FOR SALE
RG2127
RG7EXFX2
Pod X3 Live
Boss MT-2
Possibly my RG2027

If you have a CST to sell now is the time because I am possibly about to be very broke for a long time

You can just put sandbags on it SLOWLY, making sure to have 'extra' around where curves on the guitar's body are (like the arm cut) and to be very slow, gentle, and precise when putting the bags on.

test on scrap!!! that's the first rule of finishing--test your materials and methods on a piece of scrap wood as close to what you've got on the guitar as possible. then you don't have to assume if something is safe; you'll know.

is this spray-can polyurethane? only 5 coats sounds very thin to me--spray cans put out a much thinner layer than real spray guns. you want the clear coat as thick as possible before you start wetsanding and polishing, to reduce the chance that you'll burn through the finish into the wood. on my lacquer finishes, i use 12-15 full coats, and lacquer goes on thicker than polyurethane.

so i'd suggest that you do some tests on scrap with 5 or more coats of the poly and see if you can wetsand and polish without burning through. if not, you should spray on more poly.

for wetsanding, the Micro Mesh papers are awesome. they go so fine grade that you often don't need a coarse polishing compound, only a fine one.

holy shit that looks terrific!

...Each guitarist has an evil fat 40 year old blueswankler trying to get out, If you give in to temptation you'll be sitting next to a fender playing john lee hooker while trying to keep your combover in place.
