One Very Odd Question about 7 strings

I am in the process of building my own 7 string guitar and i have a guestion which involes the spacing between strings. ! 7/8 "(one and seven eighths inch) is the smallest ive seen so far (as far as neck width)...Has anyone seen any smaller???

in short, what is the smallest width neck you have ever seen on a 7 string guitar?

i used a floyd rose for mine, so i just went with that nut width

so are you saying just get a blank nut and make my own notches. 7 on them??? is there a minimal spacing recommended for strings?? i dont want to waste a blank nut by making them too close to each other.

Well no one has yet to respond to my answer so i spent a lot of time combing the net and found some interesting.info.

I found a site that will calculate the sting spacing based on nut size for both 6 and 7 string guitars.

Im gonna try something that ive heard no one else do as far as i know. If possible, i want to take a 1.625 nut and see if i can fit seven strings on it!!! i know there will be many nay sayers but ive found that IMPOSSIBLE is a word that does not exsist in this day and age. Plus my rough numbers i have worked out suggest it may work.

I know i already prefer that scale with 6 strings cuz i like to hang my tumb when i play and i also dont mind being in close spaces with my hand ( insert dirty joke here!) anyways....long story short, i have some guitar stuff hanging round my house and since i already own it, I figure nothing lost if it all falls to pieces. I have several necks of several sizes for six strings and i also have a 7 string neck too.

My current plan is to try to build a Les Paul type bolt on neck 7 string AND my crazy BC Rich Warlock 7 string idea. Plus i still have to finish my pedal board which im just waiting on the Velcro on (pic on the way soon).

Too many Irons in the fire? lol

but i always finish my projects
