![]() | Apex-2 vs RG7620 Ok would like advice from the pros AGAIN. Got myself in trouble, was at THE mega store of fools (guitar center) and saw a '99 RG7420 in out of the box condition (plastic on the covers, not a swirl or scratch) w/o case. Pretty good, neck is great pups suck, set the guitar up well (stays in tune nicely) Dig the magenta crush color!!!!!! Reading on here found out that the japan lo-trs is ok, not like the lo-pro 7 (I have a '91 rg 570, '98 rg 520 with edges, and a '92 rg770 lo-pro so I am not new to ibby trems/setups) SO I found a '98 RG7620, Black (not good......) with a tiny ding on the upper horn edge with UV case stock pups (better then the rg7420's but still may be replaced) Now looking around the net (work has been slow) I discover the APEX-2 mahogany body a +, PAF 7 a + (better then any other pups listed) Tone pros TOM another + (Dident really want a trem on a 7 anyways but hate regular hardtails) color is fine not for or against it . How is japan vs indo quality between the two? Neck diffrence between? howare they? Mahogany should have better tone (love my schecter c-1 blackjack 6'er) I can take back the rg7420 (love the magenta lol wife digs it too) the 7620 I can sell later if I dont like, or even cancel it before they ship tomorrow..... Their are just toooooo many options and I can only keep 1 seven!!! Wife is pissed as it is........ Opinions? (I know peer pressure.........) |

![]() | The 7620 and 7420 both have the original wizard 7's. The Apex2 however has the wizard 2. So, compare the neck of your 7420 to the 7620, and the Apex2 to a RG7321 (assuming you've tried one). But, the Apex neck will be a little nicer than the 7321. Just in the overall construction. So if you want the really thin necks, I'd say either keep the 7420 or go for the 7620. If you want a little more on the back of your neck, the Apex2. |

![]() | ive not played an APEX yet but if its anything like the K7 then it should be worth it. However the 7620 is worth its weight in gold, everyone loves them and theyre worth having. im still waiting for a decent one to come on Ebay.co.uk so i may grab it |

![]() ![]() ![]() | I too, own an Apex 2, and love it. Personally, I think the whole "hate on Indonesia" attitude is becoming more & more undeserved. At least from what I've seen personally, it's quite unwarranted. There ain't a thing wrong with the quality on my Indonesian axe. I highly recommend the Apex 2. ![]() |
