![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Agile Sceptor Bolt-on, neck thru comparison So instead of just going head over heels into getting an agile custom, I decided to order a production 7 to make sure im not going to preorder something, pay for it in advance, wait four months, then be dissappointed. The question is do the production Sceptors with bolt on necks have the same feel as the neck-thru counterparts? I want to get a good idea of what I will be buying. Opinions. |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I haven't played the neck-through Agile, but in general: Neck through guitars feel different. The heel is often smoother and more natural feeling. Bolt-on necks are more convenient to many players. They can be taken apart for much cheaper shipping, and they offer easier modifications. If it was up to me, personally, I would choose the neck-through, but it is merely a matter of preference. |

I personally prefere the "looseness" and "snap" of a bolt-on. But also, i'm not the kind of player that likes to play in the high register. Anyway, with today's sculpted neck joint like Ibanez's AANJ, the difference is small compared with old-school block neck joints. |

![]() ![]() | ohhhhhhh that green quilt onelooks so good.. Im cabbing over to the post office to pick mine up right now =] Sorry.. ontopic.. Neckthru seems cool, but if you want to go abit cheaper, and like the feel of bare necks (like I do!) maybe get the bolt on. But its personal preference. I like both for different reasons |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | they're both very different. i think the mahogany/ maple neck thru Septor 27" i have smokes the older basswood bolt-on Interceptor i have. i guess it's just a preference thing, if you're an Ibanez fan, maybe the bolt-on Septor will be the one for you ![]() |
