![]() ![]() | yess.. Shannon.. My Green Interceptor Pro 25 is BADASS. I only just got it tonight but it feels better than any RG7620 or bolt on I ever touched (cept the trem, but its still solid) My personal preference tho. I never really enjoyed bolt-ons much. Cept the feel of the bare neck. but the joints annoyed me alot. |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Well, I actually ask because I want to grab a production model 7 from Kurt before ordering a custom, and while he has a neck thru 727 on hand, the next 7 I have will be floyd equipped (I haven't had a "useable" floyd in over a year). So I thought about grabbing a standard sceptor. I just want to make sure that minus the heel, that the neck is the same-ish as what I would expect from the custom I should be ordering. |

![]() Funny, since I avoided a long scale length for quite a while myself, and now have come around to the merits of it. Noodles Division: American Metal without the suck. sales@kxkguitars.com "Somewhere along the way, the Straight Talk Express lost some wheels..." --Barack Obama on John McCain

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I like the 26.5" scale length, but there's something special about the 24.whatever" scale on LPs....it's a shame that wouldn't work well with a 7 string... |

![]() same here, except I have the pro 25 and not one of the newer models. I do miss that 27" scale sometimes though.

![]() | The neck dimensions are reasonably well detailed on the guitar specs. The septors and interceptors appear to use the same neck profile regardless of design. The green septor right now is $300, can't really argue with that but if you want a FL trem then the price goes up. If all you want is to check out the neck profile for taste, then buy the cheapest one since you won't be keeping it once you've got your custom guitar. Personally I don't think neck profiles matter that much. After playing the neck through, a bolt on neck seems to make as much sense as a bolt on head. I'll never buy one again. Knowing what I know now (I play the green interceptor pro 25 that gets quite a lot of mention in this thread) I'd just go ahead and order the custom without bothering to check whether I like the neck. |

![]() | I'll be posting a topic on it in a day or two, but my friend recently purchased the black flame Interceptor 7 and was very disappointed in it. The maple top was terrible, the flame barely covered half of the body and if you are more than 4 feet away the flame is not noticeable at all. The string alignment was very off (the E string was practically falling off the fretboard), the overall setup was terrible, and the ebony just seemed much cheaper compared to my own Interceptor Pro (which I LOVE). He is returning it, and probably getting the neck-thru Hornet model instead as he is going back to 6 strings. This isn't as much as a debate of neckthru vs bolt on as much as it is the quality of the guitar, as the neckthru guitars Agile makes happen to be more towards the higher end of their spectrum, and I've read many happy reports (including my own) on them. But if most of their Interceptor's are like the one my friend received, I would be wary to purchase the less expensive ones. |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Yeah, I did. The stuff I was playing at the time was very technical & had lots of wide-stretch chords. I just wasn't used to it. However, my main gigs for the last 1.5 years have been bass related, so I'm much more used to longer scales now. |
