So it is all done fellas and I'm going to pick it up next weekend. Jim has gone above and beyond on this guitar, as has everyone else involved. I can't wait to hear it.

Wow!! Soloway builds very very nice guitars.
The only proof he needed for the existance of God was music.

Sure does... I loved the 6-string of his I had... but it didn't quite suit me and I always wanted to be a 7-string player... Jim says this guitar has an insanely tight low-end with thick mids, a little darker than his usual designs (which are very bright and open), and a sweet high-end with good seperation and clarity. This is exactly what I wanted... I don't think I was this stoked for losing my virginity!

Between $2650 and $3300 depending on the options you get, binding w/purfling, soundhole, tone woods, 7-string... etc will all add to the base cost by a little bit.
Definately worth the price of admission; his 6 string guitar I originally owned was the best 6-string I'd ever layed my hands on and that was compared to some great custom guitars (Suhr, Koll) and a few decent production guitars (PRS, G and L, Schecter). The 27" scale length is a big part of the sound, the sustain, clarity and frequency width it adds to the sound is really unique - sounds closer to a big grand piano than a guitar at times. _TJK* |

Here is my post of this guitar over at The Gear Page: Limba/Alder Soloway Swan LN7 Finished - The Gear Page
Jim Soloway did two squeaky clean recordings of the guitar that sound just amazing, they are on the 2nd and 3rd pages of the thread; thought you fellas might want to hear what this beast sounds like. _TJK* |
