That looks pretty cool man, interesting wood choice too.

That is going to be an amazing guitar. I would love to own a Soloway.

Thanks for all the replies fellas, Jim is a freakin' dreamweaver!

He found the gnarliest grain he could for the Limba top and I'm pretty stoked to see how it looks when it gets sprayed, apparently Limba never takes finish the same way twice! And some of the grain will stay black and some of it will absorb the finish.

Like I said, I love the functionality of Jim's guitars and how they play/feel/sound but I like a really fat, midrange based sound, so I'm hoping the Alder/Limba combination will do that for me.

I'll keep you guys updated with pictures; apparently my neck is in the finishing booth so I should be getting pictures of that soon as well. It has a Cocobolo headstock overlay to match the fretboard and a flamed sycamore trussrod cover.

Thanks man... I know I'll love it too, it'll be hard showin' up to work after I pick it up!

I think I'm the only one, minus the few who have seen me play it.

How long you live in Q-hole for? I've been in PG for 23 years, movin' to Montreal in a year.

I've been on The Gear Page and Harmony-Central for 3 years or so, found out about all the custom/boutique stuff, for guitars, Jim's is the best I've owned. I've had a Koll, a Suhr, a PRS and a G and L... which were all great guitars, the Koll especially... but Jim's just do it for me.

How you like Van? I usually go down and visit once or twice a year.

I was there for 20 years, the first 20 I might add, still a young punk. Van's not too bad, there's always a hell of a lot going on so that's a big plus, it's kinda nice get get away from the same old same old ya know. What're movin to Montreal for?

I like Vancouver a lot, always have, but am hesitant to move down there, the weather wreaks havoc on my lungs.

I love big cities but am glad I grew up in a small town, gives some benifits you don't get other places but you miss out on a lot, especially musically.

I'm moving to Montreal to study music at a conservatory and get my grading up so I can attend McGill and/or The New School for Jazz and Contemporary Music in New York... depending on my finances and dedication. I want to get my doctorate in music and then teach at the University level as well as compose and perform.

What are you doin' in Van?

Going to school for audio engineering at Pacific Audio Visual Institute. I'm really enjoying it and it's great to have so much professional music going on everywhere.

That's great for you man, hopefully everything pans out just as you plan.

As a sidenote, I don't know how Prince would be any better on your lungs, the amount of wood fines flying around in the air is horrible. My breathing has never been better since I made the move down here.

That is awesome, I always thought Audio Engineering (Sound Designs/Acoustic Science) would be a great field to get into.

I'm very hopeful about my move to Montreal, I think it is going to go very well!

As for PG air quality, I agree, it is awful, but it is the cool/damp thing in Van that really kills me, I definately breathe better down their during the Summer months, I think the breeze blows everything away!
