Agile Custom not a go
gave kurt a ding at his email about a custom and it's not a go, too many custom features i guess.
well seeing as i'm not getting this done now i'll just say what the specs were: - forward pointing headstock - satin black paint - sperzel locking tuners - no volute - one pick up (blackout phase 2) - no controls as i said, it's a no go, kinda sad, wish it could be done, ohwell i'll just save up for my complete custom from RAN sometime in the future. |

that's odd. that doesn't seem out of kurt's range for a custom.
I'm typing this on my knees with my butt in the air. -Drew

just curious, why no volute? it adds so much more strength to a seriously stress heavy area of a neck and it doesn't hinder playability at all since your hand doesn't really come in contact with it. is it purely a cosmetic issue with you?

Seriously, maybe you did add abit too much. Just try to get normal pickup and tuners, and replace them when you get it.
Oh and if I recall, he wont do different headstocks, unless you pay a big sum.. Its like $500 to reshape the body, I know that, so maybe like $150 to do a diff headstock or something. Around then, you're getting almost into like KXK prices, so eh. the thing that made my custom not a go was inlays crossing fretlines.. which seems weird. but oh well. I think after I get the Interceptor 7 pro, if I like it, Im gonna ask him about a fretless 7, and if he can do my inlay now (since theres no frets, it should be able to cross "fretlines"..??) |

i can compromise tuners
and he could easily just put in an EMG and i swap it for the pahse 2 black out volutes i just don't like em, and with multi laminant necks theirs more strength to that area that a volute would be used for for single cut woods. but i don't use the controls and i never use neck pick ups ever, i have a guitar for that and i use that for jazz and blues. and of course satin black has been my signature colour/texture for guitars since i was 17 KxK's look pretty premium and customizeable for their prices, he's back logged hard core so i'm not gunna bother him with an order till he's more caught up. and i dunno he said he doesn't do satin paint finishes, only for necks (?). piss on it, RAN custom it is. |
