Rich doesn't bid to win on all of the auction he bids on.

In cases like this, he bids to keep track of what it sells for. So that he can price his current stock accordingly.

* Scott is drunk btw.

That's nonsense Scott. He can click on that button thats called "watch item" and track it without bidding. Given his track record for absurd price gouging I think it's clear what his intentions are.

I think he knows better than to bid right off the bat.

This is just what I remember reading on jemsite back in the day.

I'm surprised Rich has bid on it this early. Should be a lively one. The fact that PayPal isn't allowed will narrow the field considerably.

A question and answer about the Mods/damage from the listing.

Q: more pictures please. ksmartgo@gmail.com also, if you speak english, could you please say what modifications you've done, my german is not the greatest. Mar-21-08
A: Hi gong crux! Thanks for your inquiry. As to the modifications: Initially, one of the pots was for piezo volume. On this RG7, Ibanez didn't allow for mixing the regular PU's with the piezos. I _wanted_ to have this function and so had the piezo vol pot modified as a balance/mix pot, defeating the piezo vol function. OK, but now I know why Ibanez didn't come up with that function: When dialing in the piezos, the strings will break up into 2 'level groups' - H7, A5, G3, e1 will have one volume, and E6, D4, h2 will be a bit louder/softer - I don't know right now which group is louder because this sucks, of course, so I don't use the mix feature. If I kept the guitar any longer, I'd have this mod to be reversed to the original state. Later, Ibanez introduced (less expensive/exclusive) versions where the piezo system was upgraded and allowed for a hassle-free mix function. On my RG7, you have two outputs - best to connect output A to a 'rock amp' and B to a dedicated acoustic amp. With a slightly recessed knob you can pre-adjust the output for the piezo sound. In case you're using just one amp (which will not reproduce the full sonic capability of the piezos), you could pre-configure both magnetic/piezos for output A. For best results, use output B for the piezos and connect it to a dedicated acoustic amp. In both cases, you can switch sounds easily, using the mini-switch. BTW, there is a tone pot for the mag PU's, too. So the 3 pots are: mag vol, mag tone, piezo vol (stock configuration). Now piezo vol = piezo mix. I'll send you a bunch of pics I already have. The few nicks will be shown in extra picture which I'll make today. These will be added to the ebay description but I will also send them to you in good resolution. Thanks again. Best, mercutor. It kills me to part with this (and the previous) guitar, but the new ones will be 30% 'better' (before, I couldn'imagine this possible and 100% means damn good guitars!!), but the new ones are 2,5 times more expensive...
What the hell is he talking about when he says the new ones?

Someone get a move on and sell me your B7 or CST before I spend my money on something else I don't really want

I assumed he was speaking of 2027s.

I didn't notice the lack of Paypal... not too comforting.

But I guess Rich wanted to stake out his ground - given our immediate reaction of "Oh, Rich bid on it, I guess everyone else is out of luck," it just might work. This discounts, of course, everyone who doesn't know the dynamics of online high-end Ibanez sales, but I suspect that comparatively few people will be bidding on it who don't already know what it is.

for the modifications:

.) he says that he let do a "PLEK-therapy" (don't know if these is also a common thing in the US, or what the english term for it is..) - it means that it has been refretted by a computer-controlled machine, and also bridge, neck get adjusted. i know some guys doing this over here, but this only makes sense if you stick forever with your string-gauge. he also states that he changed the settings of bridge, neck etc. again.

.) he drilled 2 extra holes in the vibrato-block inside the back to mount additional springs to the vibrato.

.) he changed the piezo-vol-pot with a piezo-mix-pot, to mix the piezo with the magnetic PU, but he states that its useless because of the volume-difference.

.)when setting the intonation, he noticed that the bridge didn't provide enough setting range for the H7 (low B string) because the screw head already had contact with the most set-back position of the string saddle. some guy of ibanez distribution filed off the first few millimeters of the H7/low B string screw thread (that is, not shortening the screw but removing the first few rotations of the threaded part) so the screw head has less outward projection and as a result, the string saddle can be moved another 3 mm.

.) finally: while mounting new security locks he tightened too hard and the varnish broke and there were a few splinters - he glued the bigger splinter back into place and then inserted an extra layer of plastic washer. he also applyed glue to the screw.

hope this helps and was some kind of understandable.

EDIT: great, while i was writing this, he put an english description online hahaha...
