nice dude, the Soulmate necks are sweet...mike sherman has mine right now, doing the finish on it, i can't wait to get it back. probably picking it up in a little under 2 weeks on my way down to DC. the flame is sick as shit on that one, too. it's pretty funny, i recognized yours as a Soulmate neck before i even saw that you'd mentioned it

here's mine:

Thanks, yeah its slow but sure. Im measuring 4-5 times before I do anything. Here is the body rough cut, with a carve test I just did at the bottom end. I will have this routed out for the neck and pickups in a few days and then off to the control cavity and final carves. I am thinking of doing the arm rest area carved inward so its more comfortable, what do you guys think?

Top is final routed, now I just need to trim the back, but I need to go grab a new trim bit first, the one I have here I am not chancing it. Its a little dull.

Side shot

Test carve

Yeah. The neck he made me is very nice. That things turning out nice. I am thinking of having M. Sherman do the clear coating on my build.

Yeah, a guitar thats not a Schecter!! Im making 4 actually, 4 of my designs, to hopefully find a partner and start selling at some point. I would buy from other manufacturers but I dont like any of the designs they have, with the exception of that sii from KXK. I like that. Im going to be getting one more Schecter 007 made for me, and that will complete my Schecter collection for a while. Now Im going to make some for myself so I can show around and see if I can get enough interest to have someone come in and help me with it. I might do an 8 string with the next 3 also.

good luck....i have a feeling he won't want to take that on unless it's a 100% perfect sanding job

It would come to him perfectly ready to shoot. Ill be filling the grain on the mahogany, staining it and sending it out, I just need it clear coated. Ive been doing this kind of work for 10 years now, but I do not have a spray booth, spray equipment or a buffing arbor any longer and the cost to buy new equipment, or to have someone else clear coat it is a huge difference. I had soulmate make the neck for me because I need to set up jigs and fixtures before I start making necks and my schedule right now wont allow me more than 2 hours a day working on this. So I figure I will sub out what I can to the best and do the rest until Im set up to do it all myself.

My pickup templates are coming in today, I had templates no one else has made Just for the Seymour Blackout Passive size. I will post pics later. I have put routing the guitar on hold until I figured out which bridge I would be using. Ive been trying to get the wilkinson style ABM bridge for a Schecter build for 6 months and wanted to get one for this. I almost got a Hipshot this week and am I glad I waited (the hipshots are nice, but I really liked the wilkinson fixed). I will have the ABM wilkinson Style bridge next week!

Im going to keep the build updates here in case I dont get time to drop photos here.
Welcome to Tanium Design Firm.

UPDATE: Got the templates, nice and tight fit for the P-1 Blackouts, just 1/32" around, will leave enough room for sanding, finishing and shielding. I wont have to worry about the pickups looking weird in the cavity now.
