You played a custom Agile or just a stock-model? If so how was it, i've never tried one since they aren't available here so I'd like to hear about em.
![]() I might go for Xiphos... then get some guy to custompaint it or do a few mods? I dunno, I'll have to see how cheap the Xiphos is here. If it's at a crazy price like the RG1527 (sells for 600 here), investing in pro-mods may just get me the best of both worlds at the same price of the Agile. ^Edward De Bono's green hat thinking actually helped me come up with that. ![]() ![]() Last edited by FortePenance; 03-17-2008 at 10:30 AM. I played a few of the original ones and one of the 27" scale ones. They were nice guitars, okay for the price, but I would more than likely take the Xiphos 7 over a custom Agile if those were my only two choices I guess. The only difference between a custom agile and the production models currently available is going to be neck size, paint and pickups.
I haven't played any of the newly released Agiles but if the quality isn't drastically greater than the other ones I've played I'd take the Ibby on this one. ![]() |

I'd rather get a Agile.
7StringofAblicK-This is my footswitch. it changes channels on my amp - just like on a television, but I only have four channels.

hopefully you'll get to try my new one out sometime, Matt. i think you'll be pleaseantly surprised, it absolutely destroys the older Interceptor i have . then again, we're talking bolt-on basswood vs. mahogany/ maple neck thru. gee, which one do you think i prefer? ![]() as far as the Agile vs. Xiphos 7 thing, i've played both and they're on the same level, quality wise IMO. |

WOuldn't say the lack of extended scale is so much a dealbreaker (no, that title goes to lack of trem), but since you could get an Interceptor with similiar wood AND a trem, I myself, would have to go for the Agile. That said, a 6 string Xiphos is possibility the most fun I've ever had playing a 6 string, and the 7 looks like a real blast as well. |

^Indeed.
I'm not sure about the Agile now actually. Just thinking about how 1000 will only get stock pickups. Leaning towards the Xiphos but I sent off a couple of questions to a local luthier to see how much he might charge for some customization on a potential Xiphos. If it amounts to roughly the same as the Agile (Ibanezes are cheaper here than the states apparently), I'll go for it. If not, then yeah. |
